Last Saturday 30th October saw the filthy boys return to their dressing up boxes to play a Halloween bash at the Rose and Crown in Sutton In Ashfield, Notts. 

The boys turned out in style with Spanners as a scary clown in full face mask, which proved somewhat problematic in seeing the fretboard of his guitar, Meerkat dressed as Alex from A Clockwork Orange, resplendent with handmade codpiece, although it did lack a bit of filling (insert own joke), Zippy in full on Grave Digger and Animal bring up the rear as a man with flu!

It was clear from the beginning of the evening that the Filthy boys were not 100% match fit with Animal hitting the lemsips and Red Bull ( thats is an interesting combination!) and Zippy hitting the Strepsils.

We had out first wedding proposal which took us all by supprise especially the bride to be! Normally an evening of entertainment from Filthy Smith induces bankruptcy or divorce. Our congratualtions to the happy couple ... may your relationship be like our Kate Perry Mega Mix long and uncomplicated!

By the middle of the second set Zippys voice was disintegrating rapidly so we broke out the 'close' harmonies to support him. We finished to rapturous applause and screams of more and gently returned to our dressing room, where we became aware of a misunderstanding and they wanted us to play until 12!

So we did what all men do of a certain age who peaked to soon, we reached for the drugs, More strepsils and lemsips were in order as were put together a quick third set, preceded by lots of ... "How does that go again?", "Have we played that before?"  and "Can anybody sing that?'

Thanks to the crowd who stood by us and joined in the singing. Thanks to Landlord and Landlady Steve and Jackie for a great party, apologies for not being up to our usual standard and would look forward to returning sometime in the future.
